This exposé is a short paper about the phenomenon of crowdfunding, especially in the light of social media. Special considerations are given to the role of the modern internet culture, e.g. memes and their importance for the internet communication.
The paper not only gives a definition for crowdfunding but also takes into account what factors can improve the success of a crowdfunding campaign and gives suggestions for further readings for the respective topics.
